Man charged following major drugs seizure in Waterford, due before courts this evening

Gardai in Waterford have charged a man in his fifties this afternoon following the seizure of €141,000 worth of drugs in the city yesterday morning.

He had been arrested following the search of a house in Ferrybank at around 7:45 am yesterday where suspected cannabis, cocaine and tablets were found during a search conducted as part of Operation Tara.

Just over €10,000 was also seized in the search involving members of the local drugs unit along with assistance from the Garda Dog Unit.

He's due to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court at 5 pm this evening.
