A man has been arrested and has appeared before Waterford District Court in relation to the assault of a woman in Waterford City.
On Wednesday, January 3rd just after 11.30pm on the Poleberry Link Road, a woman was seriously assaulted.
When Gardaí arrived at the scene a number of people had restrained the suspect, and a male and other people were tending to the injured party.
The man was subsequently charged before Waterford District Court.

Gardaí on Unit B at Waterford Garda Station are requesting that the members of the public who offered assistance contact them on 051 305300 to finalise the investigation.
