Local pharmacist Brian Tynan is reminding people who are on medication to plan ahead for the Christmas period.
He said it's important that people have enough medication to carry them into the New Year.
He said while most pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day, St Stephens Day, and New Years Day, there will be emergency pharmacists open.
He told Déise Today people should not forget that Covid is still around.
"Without a doubt, if you're going to be in an environment where there is a danger of you catching it, make sure you have a face mask on," Brain said.
During the height of the pandemic, face masks prevented people catching a lot of air borne infections and now people need to protect themselves.
"Obviously you want to make sure to rule out there's not going to be Covid, so make sure you've got Covid tests in place as well," Brian said.
