The Waterford actor, who recently delighted viewers as Nigel Berbrooke in Bridgerton and Ciarán in Derry Girls, will take up the residency later this summer.
Over the nine month stint, Jamie will come up with a new piece of theatre, encompassing writing, composing, sound designing, technically designing and performing the material. The residency also involves mentoring second level students in Waterford, who will undoubtedly be inspired by the actor's career to date.

Chatting to Ollie and Mary this morning, Jamie said that this was an incredible opportunity afforded to him by the Theatre Royal, because he can still fit in other acting work, such as filming Season 3 of Derry Girls.
Have a listen back to the chat with Jamie on The Big Breakfast Blaa. He linked up with us from Canada where he's currently working..
