There has been a marked decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in Waterford over the last fortnight.
However, the three local electoral areas in Waterford City all have incidence rates higher than the national average of 721.
The number of cases of Covid-19 in Tramore Waterford City West has fallen by two-thirds in a week. 210 cases were confirmed in the two weeks from the 12th to the 25th of January to give an incidence rate of 938.
Waterford City South has the highest incidence rate locally, it's 1,241 after 279 cases were confirmed during that time, it's down one-third since last week.
The number of cases in Waterford City East halved to 255 to give a rate of 1,109.
In the county, there was a 40 percent decrease in the number of cases in Portlaw/Kilmacthomas to 82 cases.
In Dungarvan the numbers fell by almost ome-third from 128 to 87.
And in Lismore the cases dropped from 70 to 27 to give an incidence rate of 251.
Nationally
One in every 50 people in Belmullet local electoral area in Co Mayo tested positive for Covid-19 in the space of two weeks.
It continues to have the highest 14-day incidence rate in the country, at 2,008 per 100,000 people.
The Monaghan LEA has the second highest rate, at 1,762, followed by Enniscorthy in Co Wexford, at 1,614.
