Last week was the eighth in a row where there were fewer than 5 cases of Coronavirus recorded in Waterford.

The Central Statistics Office statistics up to the 19th of June show no new cases or deaths related to the disease recorded in Waterford.

These new figures look back at last week's level of Covid-19.

11 counties have recorded less than ten new cases for at least six weeks in a row.

The number of deaths related to the virus fell for the ninth consecutive week.

And the number of cases of the disease fell for the eighth week in a row.

Dublin continues to be the worst hit county, accounting for 51 per cent of deaths.

For six weeks in a row, Clare, Leitrim, Longford, Tipperary, Wexford and Wicklow had less then ten cases.

Donegal, Laois and Kerry had less than ten cases for seven consecutive weeks - a record Sligo and Waterford have had for eight weeks in a row.

Older people in deprived areas have been the most adversely affected by the virus.

Woman and adults aged between 25 and 44 account for the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland.

Meanwhile the number of coronavirus cases at University Hospital Waterford remains stable.

There was just one confirmed case on site last night.

One other suspected case was awaiting the results of covid testing.
