The Greyhound Races that were due to take place in Kilcohan today have been suspended because of high temperatures.

Rásaíocht Con Éireann made the announcement following Met Eireann's high-temperature warning for the country.

Waterford has had a yellow weather warning for hot weather since Thursday. It will remain in place until 6am on Sunday.

Races all across Ireland have been suspended because of the weather.

Owners and trainers are being reminded of the importance of good ventilation in transportation arrangements for greyhounds. They are also being asked to ensure that adequate water and other supports are available for all greyhounds.
