KBC Waterford to close permanently at 5pm today

The majority of KBC branches will close later today.

Ahead of its exit from the Irish market, 11 KBC branches are to close from 5pm today, including the Waterford branch.

75 staff will be made redundant nationally as a result of the closures.

KBC says around 20-thousand customers have yet to move their current accounts to a new banking provider.

This follows the sale of the bulk of KBCs assets to Bank of Ireland, including €7.8bn of loans and €1.8bn of deposits.
