Homes and businesses on one local water supply are being urged to conserve water.
Irish Water say they hope to have issues on the Kereen Water Supply resolved by this evening.
WLR's MaryAnn Vaughan reports;

Irish Water, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council wish to advise customers supplied by the Kereen Public Water Supply that issues at the Water Treatment Plant have resulted in a reduced production capacity. As a result customers will experience a reduced supply and low water pressure.
Crews are working to restore a full supply to customers as quickly and safely as possible in line with current COVID-19 guidelines and it is anticipated that the supply will be restored late afternoon tomorrow, Saturday, April 17. Irish Water asks that customers conserve water while the Water Treatment Plant is operating at a reduced capacity. Irish Water would also like to remind customers supplied from Kereen Water Supply Scheme that the scheme is currently on a Boil Water Notice and that customers must continue to boil water before use.
Colin Cunningham, Irish Water outlined the current situation: “This is a particularly challenging situation as we know the supply is already on a Boil Water Notice and we now have some more technical issues at the treatment plant, which means we will need to put some intermediary measures in place until we have a more permanent solution. We anticipate that we will have a supply restored for customers by late afternoon tomorrow.”
Irish Water understands the inconvenience when issues of this nature occur and thanks customers for their patience while we work to restore normal supply to impacted customers. Irish Water regrets any inconvenience caused. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. Irish Water continues to work at this time with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
