16 businesses will represent Waterford at this evening's Irish Restaurant Awards.

The ceremony takes place in the Convention Centre in Dublin.

Dungarvan's Tannery is in line for Best Restaurant this year, while near neighbours, Merry's are in the running for Best Gastro Pub.

In Ardmore, the Cliff House Hotel is in under Best Hotel Guesthouse.

Mezze in Tramore is shortlisted in two categories - Best World Cuisine and Best Customer Service.

Also in Tramore, The Beach House will be hoping to come away with the Best Newcomer award.

In Waterford City, Everett's is also in two categories - Best Chef and Best Restaurant Manager.

Momo's staff will have their fingers crossed for Best Casual Dining and for Local Food Hero.

The Union Wine Bar has made the shortlist for Best Wine Experience. Old Couch Café is there for Best Emerging Irish Cuisine.

Avo Café is in the running for Best Free From.

Grow HQ will be hoping to win the award for Best Sustainable Practices. Teolaí Coffee is shortlisted for Best Café, and Tully's Bar is in two categories, Pub of the Year and Best Cocktail Experience.

The awards ceremony gets underway from 7 this evening.
