The Independent Farmers group is calling on its members to join the producer organisation that's been set up to negotiate prices with meat processors.
The group says entering into the beef deal agreed at talks on Sunday will be beneficial and not detrimental to farmers' negotiating position.
It was present at the talks but said it would neither accept nor reject the settlement proposals.
However, in a statement released this afternoon the group said the proposed Beef Market Task Force will strengthen farmers' position and help bring clarity and transparency to the industry.
It says the reason price wasn't included in the discussions is because it's forbidden by EU law for anyone except a producer group to negotiate beef prices.
It comes as a further 355 meat factory workers were temporarily laid off in Tipperary.
