The Oscars of the Radio World get underway this evening as the IMRO National Radio Awards are held in the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.
WLR is nominated for seven awards tonight - Kieran O'Connor and Nigel Kelly are both nominated for Regional Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
Damien Tiernan is nominated for Speech Broadcaster of the Year while Deise Today is nominated in the Specialist Speech Programme category.
Karen Tomkins has been nominated again for Big Breakfast Little Stories while Ray C has also recieved a nomination in the Irish Music Initiative category.
The WLR News team of Mary Ann Vaughan, Jordan Norris and Jayde Maher are also nominated for News Programme of the Year for Waterford at One.
WLR also will be seeking to be named Ireland's local station of the year for the fourth year in a row.
