The husband of Tina Satchwell (45), the woman at the centre of a major Garda missing person investigation for six years, was today charged with her murder.
Richard Satchwell (57) appeared before a special sitting of Cashel District Court where it was heard he replied "guilty" when the charge was put to him.
The charges come just 48 hours after Gardaí discovered the Cork woman's skeletal remains while searching a hidden compartment in the concrete floor and walled area under the stairs at her Youghal home.
He appeared before Judge Miriam Walsh charged with the murder of his wife,
He remained silent during the brief court sitting. Members of Tina's family travelled from her hometown of Fermoy to attend the court hearing.
Judge Walsh remanded him in custody to appear again before Clonmel District Court by video-link on October 17 next.
