ESB crews are working to restore power to homes across the South East following spectacular thunder and lightning storms last night and this morning.
And forecasters are warning more thunderstorms are on the way this afternoon across most of the country.
4,400 homes and businessesacross the South East had their power knocked out by lightning strikes last night and this morning.
ESB crews are working to restore supplies to thousands in Waterford as well as Clonmel and Enniscorthy.
Met Éireann forecaster Matthew Martin says the warm, humid weather's creating the perfect conditions for electrical storms:
"We have a low pressure zone over the South of Ireland, thats dragging in Easterly winds from the continent, pulling in some warm and humid air. And this is adding the trigger to spark off some of these thunder storms later today."
Some people recorded amazing scenes across Waterford during yesterdays storm including the main photo by Noel Browne photography.
