The HSE says a Chinese student, who travelled from Wuhan to Waterford, does not need to be isolated.
The student arrived yesterday after leaving Wuhan some days ago before the city was closed.
He was not ill and did not show any symptoms of the coronavirus however, he remained in isolation in his accommodation as a precaution.
The HSE has issued a statement this evening saying that public health doctors have assessed the situation and have "not identified any possible or suspected cases of the [coronavirus] infection".
They added that there is "no public health requirement for isolation of any person at this point".
