A further 36 people diagnosed with Covid-19 have died in the Republic, the largest number of fatalities in a single day.
It brings the death toll to 210.
Of the 36 people who died, 17 were female and 18 were male.
24 patients had an an underlying illness.
27 were located in the east of the country, 6 were in the north, and 3 were in the south.
The median age of the deceased is 81.
345 new cases of coronavirus have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases to 5,709.
The number of cases in Waterford remains unchanged.
As of midnight on Sunday, there were 49 confirmed cases here.
