The RNLI Lifeboat at Helvick was tasked to assist a lone yachtsman this morning just after 6:30.
It was reported that the yacht had encountered engine difficulties and had suffered a loss of power.
The RNLI lifeboat came on scene within a short space of time and set up a tow.
Irish Navy vessel George Bernard Shaw was in the area and was on standby to assist with the operation.
