There was heavy snowfall across the Comeragh Mountains in County Waterford last night (Saturday).

Many low lying areas of County Waterford haven’t experienced snowfall but the county remains under a Status Orange weather warning.

Status Orange and Yellow warnings for rain, snow and ice remain in place for the majority of the country today.

The worst affected areas are Limerick, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois and Wicklow.

Cork, Kerry, and Waterford are in an Orange warning for snow and rain until 5pm today (Sunday). An Orange warning for snow and ice is then in effect until 8pm.

Met Éireann has warned that Monday will be "bitterly cold".
