A Go Fund Me for a boy attacked by a dog in Wexford on Sunday has raised over €109,000.
It was set up by neighbours to help pay for medical bills and get him back home to Enniscorthy.
Nine-year-old Alejandro Mizsan had to be airlifted to Crumlin Children's hospital by Waterford's Rescue 117.
Alejandro's serious injuries have left him unable to eat or breathe independently.
He has no lower lip left and can't talk following the incident.
A man in his 20s is being questioned by gardai in connection with the incident.
The dog went for the boy's face and neck, which Waterford dog warden, Keith Murphy says isn't unusual in these attacks.
"In nature, that's the weak point so a dog naturally goes for the weakest point where he can get control of what he considers, I suppose, his prey victim," he said.
He added that this will have an impact on the young boy for the rest of his life.
Donations can be made to Alejandro's family here.
