The Taoiseach's decided on a date for the next general election but is refusing to reveal it until next week.

In an interview with RTÉ, Leo Varadkar's admitted the election is coming sooner than he wanted.

It follows days of speculation that voters could go to the polls as early as February 7th.

Mr Varadkar says the Government has "unfinished business" and the Dáil will sit next week.
