Gardaí have launched an investigation after a phone call made to the Samaritans claimed there was a bomb present at the Minister for Justice's home in Co Meath.
The charity informed Gardaí of the potential threat on Sunday night, with officers dispatched to Helen McEntee's home immediately according to the Irish Examiner.
Gardaí carried out a search of the premises and no device was found.
The Minister and her husband, who are expecting a baby in May, were issued with security advice and a spokesperson for Ms McEntee made no comment when contacted by the Examiner.
A statement from Samaritans confirmed the call was received by a volunteer in a branch in Ireland, adding: "In line with our standard procedures, where a call is deemed to include a serious threat to the life of others, we reported the call to An Garda Síochána."
The charity said they will continue to work with Gardaí in relation to the matter.
No arrests have yet been made in relation to the bomb threat.
