Gardaí in Wicklow are investigating the theft of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the north of the county.
A statement from Gardaí on Wednesday confirmed officers "are investigating the theft of statue from a church in Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow".
It is believed the theft of the five-foot figure occurred on Monday, February 6th.

The statue is understood to have been there for almost 100 years and it's believed several people were involved in the theft.
Gardaí added investigations into the matter are ongoing.
