Gardaí in Waterford issue warning after finding driver asleep at wheel

Gardaí in Waterford have issued a road safety message after finding a driver asleep at the wheel this week.

The incident occurred on Monday when Waterford Gardaí on Unit B discovered the driver asleep at the wheel of a vehicle with the engine running while at a set of traffic lights in Waterford City.

It has caused Gardaí to remind all motorists of the consequences of driving while tired.

"The consequences of driving while being this tired could be catastrophic," a statement says.
