Garda negotiator called to incident on Waterford Greenway
An incident on the Waterford Greenway near Kilmacthomas has been resolved
Gardai were called to the scene shortly before 2.00 pm after reports that a man in his 30s had barricaded himself into a vehicle along with three children.
Gardai became concerned for their welfare.
A Garda negotiator attended the scene and the incident was resolved a short time later.
The man and the children are currently being assessed by medical personnel.
A ‘media blackout’ was in place while the incident was ongoing, it was lifted this evening.
