Hurling fans are being urged to enjoy All-Ireland final day within the Covid-19 guidelines.
Today's match between Waterford and Limerick is taking place behind closed doors at Croke Park and supporters have been discouraged from congregating to watch the action, to celebrate or even to commiserate afterwards.
This follows a decision from the GAA to withhold the cups after this year's All-Ireland finals amid fears it could encourage crowds to gather in celebration of the silverware being brought to the victorious county.
Speaking to WLR GAA President John Horan said there will be speeches after the match:
"There will be speeches, I'll obviously make a speech, the Captain will make a speech, the cup will be on the plinth, he will raise the cup. And we will hopefully organise that the players can have, in a safe manner, a photograph with the cup but the cup will not be leaving the stadium and the cup, unfortunately, will not be going back to the victorious county."
However, he says a homecoming will happen next year:
"Both county boards have it in mind to have a celebratory weekend when it's safe to do so later in the year. So the cup will arrive back, there will be a homecoming event, the cup will get to clubs and schools but that will only happen well into next year when the vaccine kicks in and society is a safer place for such an event to take place."
Today's final throws-in at 3.30pm. WLR will begin its build-up to live coverage of the match at 3pm. Commentary will be courtesy of Kieran O'Connor and Fergal Hartley, thanks to George Corbett Skoda, and WLR Sport's Nigel Kelly will have a special post-match show before the game is replayed at 7pm.
