The late Matthew Healy will have his birthday marked this weekend by a charity fundraiser in Watergrasshill, Co. Cork.
Matthew, who was a senior infant pupil in Faithlegg National School, Waterford would have celebrated his 7th birthday tomorrow, Friday May 17th.
Between the evening of February 8th and the morning of February 9th, Matthew Healy was found unresponsive in a car in the Dunmore East region.
He was later pronounced dead and his mother, Ruth Purcell Healy (37) was charged with her son's murder.
To mark what would have been Matthew's 7th birthday, and to acknowledge his love for cycling and for bikes, the event will take place on Sunday.
A motorcycle and vintage car event will take place from 1pm until 6pm, with food, music, and trucks to also feature across the afternoon.
An online fundraiser is being run in his name, with almost €9,800 raised of the €10,000 target.
All proceeds are being donated to Make A Wish Ireland.
