Tramore will come alive this weekend with a new outdoor music event.

Tramore Summer Sessions kicks off on Saturday with acts from all over coming to the seaside town.

Speaking to WLR News, organiser Neil Kelly says Tramore will get a taste of what other locations around the county have been showcasing this summer.

"We decided to put an event together in Tramore because there was so much going on around the city and I felt Tramore was lacking a bit. We went for a full indie lineup with Waterford Oaisis tribute act Mad Ferrit.

"We have a full day of entertainment and we are keeping it family-friendly from Saturday from 2:00 - 10:30."

"As it is a free event, there is a huge cost involved in this with staging and bars going in, paying the bands and staff," Neil continued," It is amazing to see how many businesses have come on board to sponsor the event.

"We wanted to do it as a free event and show people what Tramore is all about."
