A Waterford barrister has been nominated for appointment to the District Court as an ordinary judge.
Cephas Power has been nominated alongside barrister Joanne Carroll following the retirement of Judges Constantine O’Leary and Anne Ryan in recent months.
Cephas Power has been a law lecturer at Waterford Institute of Technology since 2005.
He gained his Barrister-at-Law degree from King’s Inns in 2006 and was appointed junior counsel that same year.
A former state solicitor in Kilkenny, Cephas is the son of historian Dermot Power and Maria Power.
