Repair works to a Waterford City Apartment Complex depends on the external contractor.
That's according to Waterford City and County Council Executive, Claire Hartley who was responding to a question about the Mount Suir Apartments.
The Council-owned block has been at the centre of controversy in recent years, as mold has infested several apartments as well as parts of the complex falling into disrepair.
Speaking at a recent meeting of the Metropolitan District of the Council, Sinn Féin Councillor Jim Griffin questioned Council Executive Claire Hartley.
"Where are we with Mount Suir and do we have a plan of action and is it signed off?".
Council Executive Claire Hartley responded saying the timescale for repair works depends on the external contractor.
"Regarding meeting with residents and the time scale for repairs being carried out at Mount Suir, we have been liaising individually with the tenants and have met, in some cases, individually with residents.
"Five of the properties were subject to investigative works. The time scale is being determined by the contractor in terms of the scope of work that needs to be carried out."
