In light of National Library Week, many events are taking place across Waterford.
The theme of this year’s week is "Libraries as Places of Sanctuary."
Crafts are taking place in Brownsroad and Kilmacthomas this Friday while a Coffee Morning and Craft Sale are taking place in Tramore.
A full list of events taking place can be found under the FYI section of our website.
Speaking to WLR News, Executive Librarian with Waterford Libraries, Tracy McEneaney, said that a place of sanctuary is the perfect way to describe Waterford Libraries.
"It's just a nice atmosphere, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, it's nice and warm," she said.
The main aim of Ireland's Library Week is to showcases their resources, facilities, events and services.
These are things that Tracy says Waterford Libraries excel at.
Libraries offer free space and free membership to all.
"Definitely, if you're new to the area come in and you'll meet other people from this community," she said.
