Entries for Waterford Glas awards now open

The Local Enterprise Office in Waterford has launched the inaugural Glas Awards, promoting sustainability in the local business sector.

The awards, in association with Waterford City and County Council, aim to showcase what Waterford businesses are doing to adopt sustainability policies.

David Walsh, Business Advisor with Waterford Local Enterprise Office, outlined what's involved to WLR News.

"We would be looking for what actions that have been undertaken already in line with the Green agenda. Have you a sustainability statement? Have you conducted an energy audit? What have you done to reduce carbon intensity and what your company is doing to work towards carbon neutrality."

"The entry portal is now open and will be until September 20th. There are cash prizes to be won including  €2,500 for each winner as well as well as some industry prizes."
