Emergency services responded to a call-out at the Red Iron Bridge on the River Suir in Waterford last night (Friday).
They received a report of a man entering the water at the bridge at approximately 10.30pm.
A multi-agency response took place which included Waterford City River Rescue, Waterford Fire Service, Gardaí, the National Ambulance Service, the Irish Coast Guard and Rescue 117.
The search operation was stood down after the man was subsequently located safe and well.
