Emergency services attend collision in Waterford as icy conditions continue

Emergency services attended a two-car collision in Waterford earlier today (Wednesday).

The incident happened at Whelan's Bridge, just off the N25 near Kilmeaden this morning.

Gardaí in the Tramore Division have told WLR News that no-one was badly injured in the incident and it was quickly cleared.

It comes as icy conditions continue around the county, with some treacherous patches reported earlier this morning.

A Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for the entire country.

Met Éireann is forecasting icy stretches, leading to more hazardous driving conditions.

There will also be wintry showers and the possibility of freezing rain and freezing fog.

It comes into effect from 7pm this evening and will remain in place until 12pm on Thursday.
