For the second year, South East Technological University (SETU) is set to award honorary doctorates to five distinguished individuals in recognition of their exceptional and outstanding contributions to society.
By conferring honorary doctorates, the University says it acknowledges the remarkable achievements of these individuals, who have made a significant impact on society in the South East through leadership, culture, advocacy, social activities, sports, business, and other areas.
As reported last month, this year's recipients include Waterford's Eamonn McEneaney.
He will receive his honorary doctorate today along with Sr Brigid Reynolds from Mohill, County Leitrim at SETU Arena, West Campus in Waterford.
Earlier this year, Waterford's Dan Mulhall received an honorary doctorate while Carrie Crowley and Prof Annraoi de Paor were honoured last year.
