Usually, on Christmas Eve at the Dungarvan Parish Church, crowds would be treated to a rendition of 'O Holy Night' by the church's Choir Director Lena Walsh from Coolnagour.

However, with no carols or singing permitted at Christmas masses this year, her daughter Emma decided she was going to find a way to keep the tradition alive.

The video was recorded by Emma over the past few days, with Brian Hughes accompanying her mother on piano and Emma herself playing the flute.

It also includes pictures of Christmas lights and local businesses in the town in the lead up to the festive period.

Emma Walsh said: "We’ve always meant to record Mum singing this, but it took COVID and the restrictions on singing in the church for us to get around to it.

"It's a mighty feat to even be able to sing this at her age, so we're delighted we have this recording now for posterity."
