Employees at the Dublin offices of Indeed have been told to work from home this week due to concerns one of its staff may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

The recruiting firm Indeed has asked all of its 1,000 employees in Dublin to work from home indefinitely.

It says that this is after one of its workers in Singapore "may have been exposed to coronavirus" after their family members visited a facility caring for a coronavirus patient.

In a statement, the company says while there are no confirmed cases of infection, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of their employees, we have asked all employees in Singapore, Dublin and Sydney offices to work from home until we have received confirmation.

"Business continues uninterrupted across the globe", it adds.

It comes as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Britain has doubled with four more people testing positive bringing the number to 8.

Across Europe, there are 14 cases in Germany, 11 in France, three cases in Italy, and one each in Belgium, Finland, Spain and Sweden.

There are no confirmed cases of the virus in Ireland.
