A Waterford man has praised the people of Waterford for staying at home during this COVID-19 outbreak.

Mick Malone captured drone footage of Waterford City showing empty roads, streets and car parks.

It was filmed at 9.30 am over the course of several mornings over the past week.

At one point two members of An Garda Siochana can be seen at a checkpoint on Rice Bridge with not a single car in sight.

The drone makes its way through the centre of Waterford City showing an empty John Roberts Square and Applemarket. It continues out the Cork Road as far as Kilbarry.
