Rogue motorists reached speeds of up to 147 kilometres per hour over the past 24 hours.
They were among 592 vehicles monitored by Gardai while travelling in excess of the speed limit.
Locally, one of the highest speeds recorded was near Kilmacthomas, where a motorist was recorded travelling at 129km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
Elsewhere, a driver was caught doing 146km/h in a 100km/h Zone near Waterfall, Cork.
National Slow Down Day came to a close at 7am this morning but Gardai are continuing to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of collisions this Christmas.
