A driver was arrested at the weekend, having been detected travelling at a speed of 230km/h on a Waterford road.
Waterford Roads Policing Unit were conducting speed checks at the weekend, with a car caught travelling at 230 kilometres per hour, in a zone with a speed limit of 100km/h.
The driver in question was subsequently stopped by Gardai, and then arrested for dangerous driving.
Gardai say proceedings from the incident are set to follow.

The incident comes after a notable increase in speeding along the N25 in recent weeks, with a driver found speeding at 199km/h near Killaspy last weekend.
People are being encouraged to slow down on roads nationwide. 27 people were killed on Irish roads during the month of August.
