A local councillor has branded delays to long-awaited traffic calming measures on the N25 in Leamybrien as "beyond a joke".
Earlier this year, residents told WLR of their frustrations over the delays and reiterated their concerns for road safety.
Fine Gael's Liam Brazil raised the issue at the July Comeragh District meeting of Waterford Council.
"It's being pushed back the whole time," he said.
"It's getting beyond a joke. We were told last year it would be started in the second quarter of this year and that hasn't happened."
In response, Senior Engineer (Roads) Gabriel Hynes said there have been "various hold ups" in relation to the project due to site investigations and other issues.
"Under the current programme I have, it's going to tender in January of next year," he said.
"I will make that programme available to you and you will get a better understanding of the various steps involved."
