Creche considered integral to development of Tramore estate as An Bord Pleanala refuses residential planning

The provision of a creche is considered integral to the development of a Tramore estate as An Bord Pleanala refuses residential planning

This comes as an appeal to An Bord Pleanala lodged by South Eastern Construction Kent Limited was refused yesterday.

The original planning application sought permission to change the use of a proposed ground floor creche in the Cluain Larach residential area of Tramore to three apartments.

Three apartments are already in situ on the first floor of the building.

The planning department of Waterford Council had refused the initial request for a change of use from creche to apartments on June 14 last year.

When making their decision, An Bord Pleanala stated their belief that the proposed development would be contrary to the area's development plan and its childcare guidelines.

The provision of a creche facility was part of the original development plan for the overall housing estate.
