The Government is increasing the weekly emergency Covid-19 welfare payment to €350.
It was initially €203 per week but has now been hiked by more than 50 per cent.
Employees and the self-employed who have lost all their work because of the coronavirus crisis can get the payment.
Social Welfare Minister Regina Doherty says the illness payment rate will also increase from €305 to €350.

Wage Subsidy Scheme will also be put in place aimed at encouraging employers to keep workers on their payroll.
The Government will pay up to 70 per cent of an employee's weekly income, as long as the employer pays the other 30 per cent.
That will be capped at €410 a week and is designed to keep as many people in employment as possible while the crisis continues.
The estimated cost of the package, which will run for 12 weeks, is €3.7 billion.
Minister Regina Doherty says her earlier prediction of 400,000 job losses is now a "conservative" figure.
