Employees at Waterford bio-pharmaceutical company Sanofi are being tested for Covid-19 after two of their colleagues were diagnosed with the virus.
The two confirmed cases are "continuing to self-isolate at home in compliance with public health advice".
The company has confirmed that a group of their colleagues at Sanofi are being tested today as a precaution. They will self-isolate pending the results.
A small number of other staff members were tested last week - also on a precautionary basis - and six have already received negative results.
Sanofi say they continue to work closely with the HSE and their occupational health providers to ensure a comprehensive response that protects their team while maintaining critical operations at Waterford.
Sanofi employ over 700 staff at their facility on the Old Kilmeaden Road, from where vital treatments are supplied to patients worldwide.
