The rate of Covid-19 has fallen in every part of Waterford, with the incidence in all areas below the national average.
According to the latest figures, the Dungarvan local electoral area still has the highest incidence of Covid-19 in the county.
72 cases were recorded there between August 24th and September 6th. The incidence rate is 353.1 with the then national average at 450.9 per 100,000 people. Cases fell 18% on last week.
Lismore has the next highest incidence rate, with 31 cases over the last two weeks. That's a slight decrease of 8% with the rate at 289.1.
Portlaw/Kilmacthomas saw 45 cases recorded in the past fortnight, a fall of 22%. The incidence rate is 262.9.
Waterford City East has seen cases fall significantly. They've fallen 27% with the incidence rate there lying at 256.7. 59 cases were recorded there in the past fortnight.
Waterford City South has also seen a fall-off in cases. 57 cases were recorded in the area, a decrease of 21%. The incidence rate is slightly below that of City East at 253.6.
Tramore/Waterford City West has the lowest incidence rate in Waterford , with the county having the lowest 14-day incidence of Covid in Ireland yesterday.
45 cases were registered in the local area, compared to 55 a week prior (-18%). The incidence rate in the area is the tenth lowest in Ireland at present.
National Picture
The lowest incidence rate is in Fermoy, Cork at 104.4 with New Ross, Wexford in second at 162.2.
The highest rate is in Ballybay-Clones in Monaghan. The incidence rate there is 1,576.4 - three times the national average.
