Three parts of Waterford are among the ten worst affected areas in the country for Covid-19.
Waterford City South has the second highest incidence rate in Ireland at present.
376 cases were recorded in the area in the two weeks from October 13th to 26.
The incidence rate there is 1,672 per 100,000 people - 2.8 times the national average, which is 587.
Waterford City East has the 7th highest rate in Ireland, at 1,148.
264 cases were recorded there in a two-week window.
Cases are also high in Tramore / Waterford City West - the ninth worst affected area in Ireland.
The incidence rate there is currently 1,100 per 100,000 people - after the area has seen 246 cases.
A recent surge in cases in Lismore has also continued with 103 cases recorded in the local electoral area - giving an incidence rate of 961.
Portlaw / Kilmacthomas' incidence rate is relatively similar at 946, with 162 cases recorded in that region of the county.
Dungarvan is the only part of County Waterford where the incidence rate of the virus is below the then national average.
However, 90 Covid cases were still confirmed in the area to give an incidence rate 439.
National Picture
The area with the highest incidence rate in Ireland is the Longford LEA, while the lowest remains Belmullet in Mayo.
The number of patients at University Hospital Waterford has fallen to 14, but 3 people remain in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ronan Glynn has encouraged parents to minimise their children's movements over the Halloween period.
“If your children are going on play dates or engaging in sport, think about all of the other activities they’re engaging in and just see do they need to be engaging in everything that they’re engaging in, given how high the incidence is in the country at the moment."
The 5-12 age group is the one with the highest incidence of the virus in Ireland at present.
