There has been a further 6 Covid-19 related deaths in the Republic of Ireland.

675 new cases have also been confirmed.

199 are in Dublin, 104 in Cork, 67 in Meath, 50 in Limerick, 41 in Kildare and the remaining 214 cases are spread across another 20 counties.

Fewer than 5 new cases have been confirmed in Waterford. According to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, 261 cases have been confirmed in Waterford in the two weeks from October, 14th to October, 27th. Waterford's 14-day incidence rate is now 224.7 per 100,000 population.

Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said; "Everyone must be aware of the actions they should take if they have symptoms or are awaiting a test or if they are a contact of a confirmed case.

"If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you must self isolate and phone your GP for further advice.

"If you have been referred for a test or are awaiting a test result, you must self isolate.

"If you are a confirmed case of COVID-19 you must self isolate for 10 days.

"If you are identified or have identified yourself as a close contact of a confirmed case, you must restrict your movements.

"Stay informed on the public health advice around COVID-19 and be prepared to protect yourself and those around you."

Clusters

The number of new Covid-19 clusters in childcare facilities increased by 50 percent this week.

19 new outbreaks were recorded in the last 7 days, up from 12 the previous week, according to new HSE figures.

New nursing home outbreaks also tripled this week compared to last, going from 5 to 15.

46 new cluster have been recorded in schools, the same number as the week before.

Private homes have seen the largest number of new outbreaks, with 521 reported this week.
