Tesco and Swedish retail giant, IKEA, are to collaborate on a new collection service.

Shoppers who live a distance from their flagship store in Ballymun will be able to collect their purchases from their local Tesco under a new partnership.

A six-month trial will see the pilot scheme launch initially in Cork, Louth, and Kildare where shoppers can shop online and then have their purchases delivered to their local Tesco.

A fee of €15 will apply to orders totalling less than €200, while orders above that will come with free delivery.

Once the trial period is over for the three months, the scheme is set to expand to Waterford, Limerick, Galway, Tipperary, and Wexford.
