Cement spillage causes traffic chaos at busy Waterford junction

A cement spillage has caused heavy traffic on a very busy stretch of road outside Waterford City this morning.

It happened between the Quarry Road Roundabout and the Grannagh Junction Roundabout, meaning traffic trying to come off or go onto the M9 motorway has been impacted.

The fire service have been attending and one lane is now reopen to traffic and a stop-go system is in place (9.30am)

Diversions are understood to be in place.

However, drivers are being urged to avoid the area for the time-being if possible.
