The Waterford Council of Trade Unions has called on the government to issue a Public Service Order to expand services offered by Transport For Ireland.
It comes as the Suirway Bus Service that serves Dunmore East, Passage East, Portlaw, and their hinterlands is set to cease at the end of this month.
The call is asking that Transport For Ireland take over this route when that happens.
Up to 15,000 people will be affected once the Suirway Service stops.
