There are calls for a safer road for joggers, walkers and cyclists between Waterford City and Tramore

Councillor Joe Kelly is calling for cycle lane infrastructure to be put in place, which would mean re-aligning the road .

He says the current road from the Ballindud Roundabout into Tramore could give way to a six metre wide lane, with bollard protection for users.

Cllr Kelly says the model works well in other European countries and is very doable but would require funding.
